from wedges to warrior

Sandals: Random NY shop on Broadway in Soho. Toes: Turquoise & Caicos by Essie (Thx twitter followers for suggesting this mint shade!! Join in on my fashion twitter ramblings here)
Quick shots showing the other shoes I wore for this look.
Same outfit, just slightly different. I liked the idea of wrapping the ties over fabric so they stood out more and add some interest to the pants. If the ties were longer I’d have wrapped them even higher up the leg.

Winner of the UME Armor giveaway

The winner is G. Congratulations!

So many had sick outfit ideas and I narrowed it down to 3 of you for AGES. Her answer:

I would wear it under a cream see through top, something flowy and airy, and very elegant and feminine to contrast with the strength of the chains. Definitely pair it with a pair of light colored structured shorts and some nicely worn vintage boots. Can`t forget my hat

Have a good weekend everyone.

I’m sorry, sometimes your look is too much mix and match, headache…not effortless, but …. wrong mixed! Esp the leopard Wang bag didn’t match with the whole boho/hippie theme. Plus sweatpants??? “confused”. No offense tho. :)) don’t take it personal. It’s just an opinion.

I love how you’re wearing sweatpants, especially the shoe straps over the pants. Your style is really laid back and fun. Great blog, I’ll definitely keep checking back.

Karen, you have one of the best blogs dedicated to personal fashion and styling, but this combination is just ridiculous. The pants look as if they once belonged to an old oversized man. Albeit this is the style of the pants, they do not coordinate with your small feminine frame at all. It looks like something eclectic and contrite that went awfully wrong.

Im a girl from the cold north of Sweden who have LOTS of pleasure and inspiration in your fantastic blog. Your taste is excuisite!!! And I would like to comment on your hair cause its soooo PRETTY when its curly! Ive allways wanted curly hair and when I was a kid I used to put a perm in it but my hair is nordic which means light and thin and it falls off when i put chemicals in it. Im jealous of your hair!!! Just wanted to say!

    Have a fantastic day!!!

  31. Elise says:

I adore your cardigan! It’s just amazing

  32. Karen says:

kb – it was north of Houston. On the west side of Broadway. Close ish I think to that large sneaker place. There’s like 2 or 3 shoe shops next to each other. It’s one of them.

    Corie – start saving!

Eva – it’s always the way. we always want the hair type that we don’t have ie. I still love straight hair but that’s not how mine naturally is.

Anon – no offense taken. Never is with me. Everyone has a right to their opinion as we each have a right to dress how we love : )

    Thx guys for the comments!!

  35. caylee says:

congrats to the winner! don’t you love wearing the same thing two days in a row? i do that all the time! and the ties over the bottom of those pants is so awesome.

  36. G. says:

    Yay me = ]

*agreeing with the above poster* Wearing things two days in a row is cool in my book. You fall in love with the look and feel of a pairing and you can`t help but pull a repeat. Definitely isn`t a faux pas.
