My 10 (New) Beauty Finds That Work

beauty bloggers

I really should update you with the new stuff I like atm.

I see a lot of new products but only use a few.  The less I use, the better if not one thing cancels out the other.

Here’s the new stuff I’ve been using because they actually seem to work!

My Current Beauty Favourites

1. Diptyque candle in Frankincense
Got this relaxing/calming scent at the brand’s sample sale last month. It’s shifted to being my favorite.

2.  MAC Candy Yum Yum
Holy hot pink.  The strongest pink I wear.  Good with a minimal face.

3.  Bare Minerals Flawless Definition mascara.
Long lashes and no clumps.

4.  Clarisonic Brush Cleanser
Click the link to read the reviews. I like buffer/exfoliater type products and this really cleans the skin better than hands (good for me with an oily T-zone). I use it daily.

5.  Instyler rotating iron
A hairdresser in St.Lucia used this on me and I was sold.  My hair is fine textured but it came out straight and full – no flat head!

6.  MAC Sheertone blush in Peaches
Re-discovered it again. Gives a pretty apricot-like look.

7.  Clarisonic Opal
At a press event their rep used it under one eye and I saw a difference WTF?! Read the reviews in the link.  Not cheap but without wanting to sound like an ad, this thing is no fkg joke.

8.  Nivea Smooth Indulgence hand cream
Does the job and the smell reminds me of growing up using Nivea.

9.  NARS Dragon Girl
Super pigmented and lasts all day. Gave one to a girlfriend (caucasian) and it looks really good on her too.

10.   Aveda ‘Warmth’ candle
Plant-like warm scent.  Hard to explain but I like it. Fills a room quickly.

ps.  Above outfit photo is taken from this post.

I wish I could wear that color lipstick. It looks so good and I love MAC lipsticks. I thought about the Clarisonic, but haven’t invested in one yet.

PinkcheetahVintage – me too!! The perfect mascara search is never ending.

Fashion Snag & Eleanor – it’s definitely pricey. I’ll let everyone know in a few weeks how I like it. It’s relatively early days thus far but I really like this so far.

Sharla – Yes I’ve sampled GAT by MAC. I have Show Orchid which I prefer but I know why you like it – its a good one. OMG CYY is Nicki Minaj bright but I LOVE IT!! LMK what you think.

i’m super tempted to buy that clarisonic opal! i’ve got such horrible dark circles =(
have you tried mac’s pigments in magenta madness? it makes a great matte fuchsia lip…it was used at the DVF show a few years ago.

Last year I found a brand new Diptique candle in a thrift store…almost died! Then, when I was unpacking my stuff at home, I dropped the damn thing and the glass broke. Ugh. Aveda candles have an awesome scent, I like all of them. I also love their Shampure hair conditioner. It makes your hair smell awesome, and the scent lasts until the next time you wash.

A great mineral foundation I just discovered is Everyday Minerals. 14 bucks for the foundation. You can only get it online. The color range is incredible, and you can get a generous sample selection – 5 items – for the price of shipping, so you can try before you buy. I don’t care for their eye shadows, but the foundation, setting powders, and blushes are really good.
