Bag Lady

ACNE dana mules

Have you noticed how some of your favourite things are (sometimes) the least expensive?

Acne dana mules

Dress: Thrifted. Free People does a bunch of versions.  Western mules: ACNE (solestruck).  Similars: Cheap Monday or Jeffrey Campbell.  Bag: FreePeople  (DIY shoulder strap).  Lipstick: WetnWild #966 (it’s slightly less bright in real life – promise)

That applies to this dress. The lipstick too actually – did you see my instagram of the orange one? I have to show you lot better pics on the blog.
Wearing a thrifted dress that I pinned up on both sides to give a handkerchief hemline .   I used one of my belts as the shoulder strap to make the bag hang longer.  The original strap is still attached which I switch to sometimes – it’s in the 5th pic.
The western clogs mules no clogs have been on my feet daily while at home, clopping from room to room.  I wear them with denim but liked the contrast of modern clog with faded print dress.

I should try cutting one of my old boots into this shape and see what happens…hmmm *scratches chin*

I have much appreciation for that dress. Floral, feminine but free! Its refreshing to see something that’s not fitted or sexified. I made that word up. XD

Love the lip colour. However, that bag, dress and mules have no reason being styled together. Looks like you a thrift store exploded on you. Each piece should be styled appropriately on their own. Those mules are space-like minimal, not vintage boho. The bag strap idea is tops- would have been great with that dress if you attached it with a simple leather bag.

Thx Lara but that’s what makes us different. Wearing what we like the way we like it. To me there are no ‘should’s or ‘should not’s on what on how I wear my clothes.

I have that exact same bag!!!
LOVE what you did with the shoulder strap.

    • Karen says:

really? btw I noticed that no two are the same. I saw someone with one the other day and hers were different colours to mine.

I like how large it is

    • Sinead says:

True, it’s not 100 per cent identical, but mine does have a primarily orange colorway. Funny thing is, I wanted one just like the one pictured in the Free People catalogue (more blue if I remember correctly) and I was a bit put off when I received mine. I don’t own anything orange. But over time, I have come to love it. Do you ever worry about the little mirrors falling off?

    • Karen says:

Actually I wanted a more blue based one too but I’m ok with this one now. The one I saw on someone else recently, some of the mirrors were coming off so yes I can see it happening? I’m ok with it though since I have a lot of bags so I won’t be using this one heavily.
