20 Things You Don’t Know About Me

I have a half sister and one brother
My parents separated when I was around 5 and I was raised by my Mum
Since small I always knew that I would end up in New York but I didn’t know why
I grew up in Tottenham behind the Tottenham Hotspurs football (soccer) ground
Don’t laugh but I am convinced that I saw a UFO when in my teens
I have skydived 14,000 feet above the clouds
My Mum, Dad, brother and I were all born in August with back to back dates
‘Sailing’ by Christopher Cross is my favorite song
I only wear ‘Aromatics Elixir‘ perfume by Clinique
I used to have extremely accurate premonitions of my future
I used to work at Sainsbury’s supermarket deli counter part time
As a kid I was oddly terrified of a puppy that was given to me once. Mum had to give it away
I still have my old flat (apartment) in London
I went to an all girls Convent school and was taught by nuns
Michael and I met by pure accident online as complete strangers
It still hits me that I actually live in New York
The flat that I grew up in was haunted by a ‘friendly spirit’.  I felt the presence when alone and my Mum later admitted to having the identical experience when alone in the same room
I hate avocados
I was a child actress in London for a few years and I STILL miss performing on stage
I got my green card about four days ago after years of fees and paperwork!

Yaay! Congrats on the green card <3 #immigrantlifeforme lol. My dorm was haunted by friendly spirits (when I was in college) I always wanted to experience it but once I did I wasn’t too fond of living there :-/

Awww. For some reason I was absolutely fine with it. The energy wasn’t malicious and I knew it wasn’t. Ok enough before people start thinking I’ve really lost it.

ah wow! I live in Seven Sisters AND last night night on Twitter someone claimed to have seen a UFO flying towards Stamford Hill 🙂

    • Karen says:

Oh wow Seven Sisters! I’ve not heard those words in YEARS. I think anyone who says that re UFO’s is looked at as a nut nut.

”Since small I always knew”, a ”UFO”, ”extremely accurate premonitions of my future”, ”the flat that I grew up in was haunted by a ‘friendly spirit”’; I feel a new career as psychic coming up!
No, let’s stop joking…. it is really interesting what you’re telling us here… you must be a sensitive person…..with excellent style!

Wow, loved learning these random facts and I agree with PinkCheetahVintage. Avocados are great if you cut them open at just the right time.

Took me a while to get used to avocados after living in the US for so long. Congrats on the green card. I was super excited when I got mine. Next step is citizenship, Karen. Good luck. P.S. Cool coat by the way.

    • Karen says:

ahhh so you grew to like them then? Yea I bet you were excited. Takes forever!

I saw a UFO while I was living in Houslow a couple of years ago, so it’s true, UFOs exist!!

    • Karen says:

Interesting….. I do believe they do I don’t care what people think.

When’s your birthday? Mine’s in August too! I think it’s more kooky if people think we’re the only beings in the universe… so I don’t discount stories of UFO sightings.

Avocados ARE gross. I’ve only had guacamole that I liked ONCE (it was well-seasoned and blended with tasty stuff), and even then the texture scared me away after a few bites.

And congrats on your Green Card! It sucks that it’s so expensive and takes so long :/

“Sailing” by Christopher Cross is one of my faves as well! I don’t know if you’ve ever heard it, but N’Sync actually does a really nice cover of it 🙂
