There’s something really girly to me about wearing a dress when it’s raining. Its like that little girl refusing to wear ‘something sensible’ instead so it won’t get wet. I get images of side stepping puddles, clutching flimsy fabric & hair slightly wet (frizzed for me) where the umbrella couldn’t protect it. Even the famous Carrie Bradshaw opening sequence as she turns in a tulle tutu while being splashed. It’s all part of it.
Can’t fully explain the silly-ness and until the rain stops, I think it’s ok to layer dresses over black. No matter how ‘soft’ the dress is.
