So I’m still using the Nokia Lumia Windows phone (these pics were taken with it) and during a break for NYFW, Microsoft had me check out a few more goodies that we may be seeing in the future….
First I swung by Bloomingdales to check out the above interactive printing dress that projects tweets directly onto it. The upper half has an integrated keyboard. I can so see an avant garde person from the fashion or music world rocking this on a red carpet.
At the Style Coalition VIP Influencer Lounge sponsored by Microsoft (yes, I’ve been busy this week), I checked out this table sized version of a tablet at the Microsoft lounge. It does everything your computer does but it’s all done with your hands, including writing. When I heard the screen can be hung up on the wall too I was sold. I want one.
This last creation is my personal favourite. Remember the Wii that has everyone gesturing in the air? A company called Facecake Swivel is using similar Kinnect technology. Basically you use gestures and voice instead of a remote in a virtual dressing room and virtually try on clothes and accessories. You can check this out at 20 Bloomingdales nationwide right now. I personally like getting an idea of how a bag or dress works on me – especially bag sizes (I’m more an accessory girl).
For someone who’s a geek phobe, I have to say that the gadgets from the Nokia Lumia phone (I need to show you the street style vids I shot with it) to the Arc Mouse that works with laptops has helped me during fashion week.
