I spotted Eva racing across the street recently and marched toward her to avoid her disappearing down the block. She was in a hurry but was nice enough to stop for 2 seconds. It’s sometimes all you have, if that in the city.

Eva took it off so that I could take a closer look after she saw my mouth drop open. “See?” she said: “you can see it better. Real gold leaf.” I think my face literally lit up from the gold when she tilted the brim towards me. Brilliant.
