3 Unexpected Summer Looks

off duty street style

You are almost guaranteed to stand out wearing all black in summer.   I shot this girl a year or so ago and never forgot her.  Looks aside, the simple black dress and beat up cowboy boots made this style her own.

Try: Wildfox Atlantis wrap dress or Free People’s Raglan dress.

The skirt is a nod to origami and menswear.  Fans of Opening Ceremony and Dover Street Market should dig this.  Tip: Get a men’s shirt in XL and tie the sleeves at the waist.  I tried this once and it works (after two or three attempts).

Try: Free People’s Stella self tie skirt or this angled pocket skirt from Need Supply (on sale).

Anti-floral print dresses, a welcome change to the usual. I beg companies to offer more unusual prints.  Tip:  Keep accessories simple (or none) to avoid competing.

Try: Topshop’s Daydreaming dress, Mary Katrantzo’s Forest dress (on sale) or this graphic bomber dress from Asos.

I’m glad I saw this post. I was just thinking about trying out the shirt as a skirt look for a fashion show that I will be attending. This is giving me the extra push to actually do it!

    Love this post!

The post in the all black summer look ranks as one of my favorite posts ever on WDUGT. It was great look a year ago and one year later, it still looks good…

Yes I never forgot her either. She was really nice too. I think she was French

If anyone knows where the dress in the 3rd pic is from, you could make a girl very happy! Thanks in advance!
