and where to find them…
It’s the wedding season so here are three less expected wedding outfit ideas:
Jumpsuits are striking and as easy as dresses. Size up in a loose fluid fabric. Add a simple clutch to avoid cluttering the neckline with annoying bag straps.
Where To Find: The above red is Zara (old) but try BB Dakota ‘Christa’ jumpsuit, Vila wide leg jumpsuit (love) or Asos 70s style with pleats + ArtC clutch!
Go with an olive dress versus the expected pastels. It’s pretty without feeling sweet. Contrast with orange (or pink) heels.
Where To Find: Anthropologie silk dress + Topshop ‘Rumor’ strappy heels.
Get one floor sweeping dress. Navy is dark enough to flatter without being as harsh as black. Keep the print small to avoid it dating fast. Ditch spiked heels for comfortable platform wedges or block heel platform sandals.
Where To Find: FreePeople ‘After The Storm’ dress in black (love!), DVF silk crepe dress + Michael Kors.

Do you think the high-low look is officially gone. I’m noticing a lot of midi and maxi but, no high-low trend.
Karen Blanchard says:
Yes floor length dresses and especially midi’s are huge. Its like throw back chic to wear midi’s either with flats but especially with heels. When you say high low I assume you mean mini skirts or mini dresses?
Danielle Verderame says:
By hi-low I meant those mullet dresses where it’s a mini-skirt in the front and long in the back.

Karen Blanchard says:
Agreed! the jumpsuit is my fave.
Sinead says:
Brilliant! Love the red jumpsuit. It’s like a post modern Bianca Jagger look.
I had the Big White Wedding/Big White Cake back in the day, and that didn’t work for me — on any level, lol! IF there’s ever a second go, I will have a courthouse ceremony, a bright red dress, and a dance party in my backyard. (And a prenup!)
Karen Blanchard says:
Yea gorge right? I had that jumpsuit IN MY HAND on sale at Zara and almost tried it on. I think it looks great on the woman above. I don’t do halters much. Yea I know what you mean on the wedding. Michael and I did the low key city hall deal and it was perfect. I feel like that’s an overall trend that women find more appealing. I think it’s the result of us being less about the traditional.
Lisa Campbell-Lown says:
Lovely looks!!! The red is to die for!! Do you have any suggestiions for women with large “chest”? I have the worst time. I can’t wear button downs things or if they have darts at bust. I do get a lot of things taylored, but it’s so expensive. and I’m short, so a lot of maxi dresses, to me, make me look shorter… my husband is 6’4 so I already look short when we are out together….lol
Karen Blanchard says:
For your height knee length looks best I think or even just below – that’s even better and wear heels for sure to elongate your legs and give a more proportioned look.
When you have a bigger bust wearing something thats fitted on top is really the way to go otherwise loose styles could hang off and make you appear bigger than you are. I find women with bigger boobs look so good with a fitted upper half that shows off the waist to bust ratio. Think Sophia Vogaria or whatever her name is. Maybe consider a strapless dress that goes straight across the chest with a jacket over if you don’t feel confident enough to wear it alone?
Micaela says:
look on instagram for Caroline Vreeland. She has a large chest so you can take some outfit ideas from her 😉

I have that jumpsuit! Had never thought it was wedding-appropriate (given that I had to tape it shut on the sides to avoid flashing people and given that it’s backless) but I guess the very formal front makes it ok? Either way, you’ve reminded me I need to wear it again – wore it to my office Xmas party with a crown of fake red berries a la Neil in Dead Poets Society!
