I hate to say it but I’m just going to: Checks or rather gingham as it’s being called is huge.

Like ruffles, the Dorothy Wizard of Oz connotations are gone.  These really are for women.   My fave pieces are three: a ruffled gingham skirt (yes I know that’s two trends in one), a gingham trench coat (a fresher take than the sea of beige) and a blouse like the above photo which looks so good with a black knit.

Any of the below would slide easily in with anything black, with jeans plus simple heels.    Gingham also pairs with pink, yellow, white and reds.
