I LOVE high waisted anything and since it’s summer, my mind is on high waisted shorts. These shorts are precisely what I am looking for: 70’s retro inspired. Note the lattice criss crossing on the sides, vertical seam panelling and flattering dark denim rinse. Laura got them last year from LF. Alas, they dont have them this year (Yes I immediately checked after the impromptu photo shoot).
Here’s this version from Urban Outfitters but missing that little special something. I bought these recently at American Apparel with side zips, but am after something that has a strong retro feel with cool detailing ie. braid trimming. Any suggestions?

This is the perfect example of not having to shell out $$$ to still look casually put together in the current denim trend. The small leather cross body bag compliments the dress perfectly. The floppy hat partially covering the face is adorable. An oversized wool version in the winter looks equally cool. This version from American Apparel is a good contender.
Anyone else wearing denim in a form other than normal jeans?
