That’s how it was with these trousers.
Saw them on Carrie from Sex and The City years ago. I swear my eyes widened as she waltzed out of a bar: White vest. Check. Beige trousers with brown sequin horses down one leg?? wtf is this?? but check. Perfect wavy hair. Check. Clutch under arm. ok you get the point – I never forgot this. Soon as I discovered it was Chloe I bit my lip #soldoutcollection
To add insult to injury I see celebs parading in said trousers: Madonna wore these navy ones in London. Lucky sod. Personally I could wear the entire horse collection that Stella McCartney churned out*
I eventually give up the monthly search on eBay and anywhere else. Then years later I walk into a consignment shop in New York and what do I see for a steal? The chloe trousers in navy then again in beige. Two pairs. I took em both (here’s a 2009 post in them).
Karen and said trousers now live happily together because you know when you put that energy out there hard enough? This happens.
