acne vs. alexa

Boots: ACNE Attacoma. Alexa by Jeffrey Campbell
The Alexa boots by Jeffrey Campbell JUST hit LF stores (you can buy them online here).
Being I’m still having issues with the fit of these gorgeous ACNE’s, I planned to possibly switch to the Jeffrey Campbells to still get ‘the fix.’ But there’s a problem:
The ACNE’s are without doubt my favourite (the sexier cut, the thick mirror trim etc), but are still tight on me (I got a size 40, their largest, but needed a 41). The Alexa’s are a great version but (here’s the wierd part): The Alexa’s are a touch tight on me too!! Why? They both have a very rounded toe and my feet suit longer/pointy shapes. (I have Jeffrey Campbells that all fit fine so its definitely a shape thing).
Either way, here they both are and whichever I let go of will go in the shop (still working on it, please bear with me!).
What do I do???

The Acne ones are sooooo much better…i think you should keep them as long as they are not way-toooo-tight on you.
By the way, your dominatrix outfit is amazing! Love the braids and make up
    🙂

As much as you wear them you need to go with comfort over style. I’d say wear them both for a week to let your feet get used to them or let your feet stretch them and then decide.

Keep the Acne ones! They’re super fab.

  4. Randi says:

I have actually tried both myself. I ended up going with the JC’s because of the heel height. I love the fact that the heel only ends up being 2.5 – 3″ (when you account for the platform) – perfect for all day walking!

wowzer they look remarkably similar but i do agree the acne pair look better. On the issue you’re having I would say go for the bigger size but perhaps these will contour to your feet with time.

    clothes are cute

I would just live in hope that ACNE ones would give over time….. Probably not the best advice. I have been known to ‘live’ in this hope with many pairs of shoes to no avail…..

AH, I was considering getting the Alexas but they’re about a hundred dollars more than I’m willing to spend… i would love to hear reports on comfort/sexiness and some photos of you wearing them, though!

the jc’s look sort of awkward and stumpy. keep the acne atacomas. they’re the OG. haha.

I don’t like the JC ones. The shape/lower heel just takes away the hotness of the shoes. Keep you Acne ones I’d say. Get rid of the JC ones. They look kinda dorky and very unsexy while the Acne ones are hot. Otherwise, get rid of both?

the acne shoes look actually better ^^, i think you should keep them.

it’s quite funny, i have a problem to find the right fit shoe too because of my really small size, 36 (wait, isn’t it the smallest size?!)

  11. The Animal Orchestra says:

I’ve been dreaming about getting the Atacomas for months – & now JC comes out with these! I don’t know whether to stick with the dream, & pay up or get the cheaper, copied alternatives. Morals versus money? What to do….!

  12. Tereza Å . says:

I would keep them unitl it doesn´t cause some serious problem..like I can´t walk, hehe. Love the Acne ones!

  13. Suzanne says:

    looove <3

  14. Laura says:

I would keep the Acne ones! x

  15. Kb says:

Thanks for the heads up, the second pair would probably fit me best, as I’m size 41 but with wider feet. I’m moving to NYC in two months, so I hope they still have them then…(or maybe you could hold the Alexa’s for me)

  16. alis says:

If they’re both uncomfortable, go with the Acne’s!

  17. Anika says:

They’re both gorgeous, but you’re right…the shinier finish and extra height to the Acnes is pretty nice.

I dunno….stretch spray? Put them in ice in the freezer? (don’t ask, I read this on someone’s blog)

did you try taking the ACNE’s to a cobbler to have them streched? That might relieve the pressure around the toe. I wear a size 9.5 or 10 and I’ve had to do that a couple of times and it helped immensely.

    loving the shoes

  20. Sam. says:

you should try to take the shoeshop and get them stretched a bit.

  21. Kate Van Zandt says:

    Acne’s.

I think you can take the Acne shoes to a good cobbler and they’ll expand it for you.

  22. Nina (Femme Rationale) says:

u can take them to a cobbler to have them stretched out. i do it all the time. 🙂

  23. Yuka says:

my acnes were super tight too when i first got them. but the more i wore them the better they fit. its like they molded to my feet. i think the JC ones are not as nice for sure. you can totally tell the differences. stick with the acnes!

  24. Anonymous says:

id rather have tight shoes that were cheap, than tight shoes that were expensive.

  25. Anonymous says:

Neither- cause jacking up your toes will not be good come summer!

  26. camilla says:

keep the Acne ones for sure.

  27. Karen says:

I did have the ACNE’s stretched but they are still tight (remember they are 1 whole size smaller than I normally take).

Maybe I’ll have it done again and see if it makes a difference : /

Now that the Alexa’s are here too, I’ll decide this week what I’ll do.

    Thanks all for the suggestions…..

The Chain of Love – soon but not yet.

Kb – email me on the Alexa’s and I’ll let you know.

  28. Girl in the loft says:

i think you cant go wrong with either one but i love the ACNE’s!

  29. mary says:

im also debating btwn the two. im scared the acnes might be too high/uncomfortable idk. thanks for the post though the side by side pics help immensely! ur the best as always

  30. Krystal says:

ahhhhrgh! i have the same problem–and now i know we have the same size foot–and i agree, i love the look of them more than anything–why dont they feel like trainers!? so sad.

  31. Nanna Jenner says:

Does anyone know how tall the alexa is in centimeters?
