I’m really into tall flat boots this winter. I’ve always loved a good pair of equestrian style boots. They smarten up leggings, skinnies or in this case mens long johns. It’s like you showed some effort without needing wobbly heels.
Peacoat: H&M. Mens long Johns: Random. Similar by Riller. Shirt: Uniqlo. Similar from Shopbop. Boots: Ariat. Shades: Ray-Ban. Bag: Coach. Similar from Joy Gryson. Necklace: Zara
I wore these boots by Ariat. The brand drew on an English equestrian influence, basically making them sleek enough to look somewhat smart. I wore them with my year old checked shirt which I pinned into a standing collar – my version of a tuxedo style shirt. The drop crotch mens long johns satisfies my crave for something harem-like. I’m sure it raises a couple of eyebrows on the street.
Now it’s your turn to get a pair of boots for free! Ariat is giving one of my readers a pair of their own.
HOW TO WIN:
Leave a comment below telling me how you would style your boots and I will pick a winner at random. Also include your email and I will pass it onto Ariat who’ll send you the boots! note: Monaco and Exotics are not included in the giveaway.
Good luck!!

So, there’s no way I could give just one way for styling these boots. I would love to pair them with a short flirty dress, tights and blazer or you can substitue the dress for a skater skirt (faux pleated leather preffered), button down (buttoned all the way up and blazer (patched elbows a la Zara) but I think more than likely I would go classic with a pair of dark skinnies (indigo or black), white button up (perhaps including some sort of skinny neck tie or bow tie) and then a coordinating blazer (patched elbows a la Zara).

Hi Karen, can I ask what size you got the h&m peacoat in? I’m thinking about getting it. It looks very stiff is it comfortable around the shoulders and arms? I’ve got really long arms and those sleeves look a good length.

The coat is beautiful. It looks like an h&m “find”. Can you post the size you purchased?
Thanks!!!

These boots would look fantastic with a basic, long-sleeved jersey or cotton dress (H&M have some great versions) in a variety of hues, including smoky grey, rich burgundy or navy. I’d add a leather or metal & turquoise belt, allowing the dress hem to come up and drape so that the detailing at the top of the boots is visible. Vintage silver cuffs, one on each wrist. To finish things up, I’d layer a cashmere or tartan wrap over the dress.

OMG! I’ve been looking for a great pair of tall boots for quite sometime, & these are PERFECT!
First outfit that came to my mind: I have this breezy, sheer, crinkled chiffon maxi dress in an allover floral pattern. It also features a tiered, ruffled trim along the rounded high/low hem, finished with a racerback and scoop neckline. The colors feature hues of purples, auburn and earth tones. I think the boots would compliment the colors of the dress perfectly! Since there will be some leg skin showing (around the knee area), I would also wear black sheer tights underneath. Black sheer tights can always add a more subtle, feminine touch. I would also pair a chunky, soft textured, knit circle scarf in a creamish, grey color. Out here where I’m at it’s still beautiful out where you don’t necessarily need a coat, but I would top it off with either a light brown peacoat, or tough it up with a bold white leather jacket. Since there will be so many statement pieces of the this outfit, I wouldn’t want to weigh it down with accessories. So the best would be some stud earrings and ray ban sunnies!
Seriously, more outfits ideas from my wardrobe keep popping up! I would LOVEEEEEEEE TO win these! 🙂

I think tall riding boots are delicious. I would pair them with my favorite color of the season Olive and Burgandy. Burgandy Boyfriend Cardigan w/ double tanks. Burgandy below w/Olive on top. Dark distressed Skinny Denim and a print Paisley or plaid scarf. I love the look that you’ve put together as well. I simplify every outfit for a bit of dramatics. I have a three year old and a sixteen year old. So, I make every attempt to be fashionable and comfortable. The scarf tied in men’s tie fashion is my dramatics. I would so adore these. So much so I would throw on a Camel colored coat to complete my ensemble w/ a simple black purse. It would be soo nice if I heard from you. I’m fond of the London boots. I think I’d go rather simplistic: a quilted jacket, an oversized mock turtleneck and cropped boyfriend jeans. Probably too heavily relying on these boots’ sleekness to balance all of that out, but that’s my style POV at the moment. They’re pretty compatible with the whole of my wardrobe actually.
Anyway, really dig the squareness of your coat and long johns would be a really good idea right now. Gotta nab some.

Oh how I could use these boots!! They are so versatile and so out of my price range. I’m a stay-at-home-mom to a beautiful 14 month old baby girl. Versatility and simplicity are my go-to styles since joining the mommyhood. And these boots can fit any occasion. First as the mom running from the playground to the grocery store to simple errand running, these boots would of course be paired with skinny jeans or leggings. The top would be a plain fitted t-shirt adorned with a gorgeous scarf. Next when getting down to business for Mommy-and-Me meetings or running treats by my husband’s office, these boots would look stunning with a bolero jacket. And finally for the rare but much needed “date night” with the hubby, I’d pair the boots with a skater dress. Love love love!
