NYFW Tool Kit

Steve Madden real love

I’m seeing if I can get more organized using a few tools during NYFW.

Michael took these quick outfit pictures with the Nokia Lumia 900 Windows phone so we could test the quality.  We checked the phone’s video too. Read on to check that out.

Below 2 pictures: Taken with Nikon

Comparing pics from a phone and a DSLR camera is like comparing chalk and cheese but the quality is enough to justify using the phone during New York Fashion Week for quick pics to tweet/instagram etc.

The screen is larger than my iPhone which helps with seeing appointments.

Gucci horse bit bag

Outside of the usual street style Fashion Week pictures (you’ll see them pop up here and on the street blog), I am going to try using the Nokia Windows phone for WDUGT videos. The quality is pretty good considering.  Have a look at a recent test video we did to catch different distances:

Top: eBay (Seller: Velvet Horses Vintage).  Jeans: Forever21.  Shoes: Steve Madden. Bag: Gucci. Shades: Ray Ban
This post is sponsored by Microsoft

I’m still getting used to all the bells and whistles on Microsoft’s new Nokia Windows phone, but the camera and video resolution are good enough to try using straight off the bat.  Everything else I’m trying out as we speak.

Outfit wise I’m in a leopard top, cuffed up jeans and heels.  Say hello to my new friend: a bag from Gucci – my first proper structured tote!  #growingup.  It’s logo free so most don’t know who it’s by outside of it being a good sized burgundy leather bag.  It’s big enough to fit every tool I’m carrying especially this week & next eg. the Nikon, the new phone and a lightweight Arc Touch Mouse (good with laptops).

I’ll post some street style vids from fashion week using the phone so you can see how it looks.

ps. During fashion week check out the Bloomingdale’s 59th street store to see Microsoft’s printed dress installation that incorporates computer components into the fabric. I’m swinging by on Monday to see this (apparently it shows real time tweets).  You can see the installation and enter their giveaway on their blog.

I love Nokia phones! I’ve been swearing by them for the last eight years. The photo and video quality is excellent and the battery life is outstanding among the endless list of other great qualities that I think their phones have to offer. The only thing that bothers me about having a phone made by noKia is that you don’t have as many apps available for you to use, including Instagram.
