Lower East

women's white jeans

I met up with friends in the Lower East side recently and was in a f**k it mood, ditching the usual ankle boots or trainers for heels.  God knows how some women can wear these daily but it’s good for a change.

Jacket: Vintage.  Try Free People, I saw this brown or olive one. Also Urban Outfitters.  Jeans: Alexander Wang (old). Lookalikes: these from Asos, Urban7 for All Mankind, or Rag and Bone. Mens sweatshirt: H&M. Shades: Ray-Ban foldable. Lipstick: MAC Candy Yum Yum.
I wore my mens vintage jacket found at the Brooklyn flea market (best buy ever although I say that for a lot of vintage stuff don’t I) plus mens sweatshirt and jeans from an old Wang sale (bought about 3 years ago).  I borrowed the silver Boy from my friend (we swapped for a week) and went for a grey, white and silver feel once the jacket was off.
I haven’t been down the Lower East side for a while and missed it.  I could say the same thing about wearing heels but cabbing it there and back cancels out my desire to teeter on pavements too often.

Thx I’ve had em for ages! They only JUST about fit again. Clearly I was a lot smaller before :-/

Wow, Karen, it’s superb! I was waiting from you this post for couple of months:))) I bought kinda the same jacket and was thinking how to pull it off, thank you a lot for this awesome post! Karen, did you alter it in shoulders? just shoulders on my jacket are exactly in the same design but they are wide and kinda padded so I don’t know what to do to look modern rather then costume

Hi! the jacket came as is. It’s EXTREMELY slouchy with no shoulders pads. If yours has them in take them out. It will stop the unflattering boxy look and form to your natural shoulders. It helps if the material is very slouchy though. Is yours more fitted in that area?

Hi Karen:) Thank you for tips, I think my one is fitted in other areas but not in the shoulders:))) I’ll try to check if there are pads:))) and will try to remove them:))

As usual Karen, you can pull off anything! I haven’t been on your blog in ages and I can’t have that! I love the white jeans on you. You managed to wear two items that I swear against together and make them look good: fringes and white jeans!
