Dress: American Apparel. Striped Tank: Forever 21. Boots: All Saints. Fedora: Urban Outfitters. Shades: Ray Ban. Canvas bag: Free from Topshop. Necklace: LF. Skull rings: Street vendors
So for the first time since being in New York, the boyfriend and I decided to check out the West Indian parade in Brooklyn. Being of St. Lucian parentage, I certainly was up for a slice of island life.
It was a good laugh with loads to eat, drink (I’m drinking coconut water above) and take in. I was done by the end of the day so we headed home – satisified.
I’m wearing this black racer back dress by American Apparel, layered under a striped tank from Forever 21. The All Saints boots you know about. I added a strap to one side, something I was doing at the start of the summer for a while.
ps. NYFW is just around the corner. Time to plan outfits!

Love the black and white in opposition to the vibrant colors of the parade. Is the strap that you added to the boots the studded one? I thought it was part of the pair – very chic!

Ashley says:
I LOVE the studded strap that accompanies your boot. For a DIY stud beginner like myself, it is a safe way to practice adding studs to clothing.
I was going to add studs to one pair of my boots, but I think I will try my hand at a strap first. =]
