Try This Lipstick

Wet n Wild Megalast lip color

I am bonkers about bright matte lipsticks (like this post and this one).

Last week my friend Paula and I spotted a woman on 34th wearing THE most amazing bright fuschia lipstick.  Me: “Shall I go ask her what it is?” Paula:  “Go on.”   So I did.
The woman said she gets a lot of compliments wearing it.  She normally wears high end make up and this wasn’t.  She was wearing #966 “Don’t Blink Pink” by Wet n Wild – the drugstore brand.

Of course I got it right after. Since the prices are low enough to risk a mistake, I also got the Megalast’ lip stain in “Cherry on Top.”  It’s 3x darker than the above photo. It’s a gorge berry red.  I couldn’t accurately capture the color here. Once it dries (in seconds) it stays through meals and drinks.
I found the Megalast lip stain here and Don’t Blink Pink lipstick here.  Bargains for under a fiver.

Paula – when yours runs out I’ll send over a couple to you in London.

What i don’t understood is if truth be told how you’re now not actually
much more well-appreciated than you might be now. You’re very intelligent. You already know therefore significantly with regards to this subject, produced me in my view consider it from a lot of various angles. Its like men and women don’t seem
to be fascinated unless it is something to do with Girl gaga!

Look into The Lip Bar [thelipbar.com]! They release a new set of lipsticks every fall and spring. They’re a little expensive, but the lipsticks are made with all natural ingredients, by hand, in the mixologist’s kitchen! The colors are to die for every season. xo

I haven’t considered matte lipstick. My SIL also wears a really bright pink lipstick and it’s surprising but it looks really good! I’ll have to take a chance and give it a try to see if I could pull it off, too.

Bright matte lipsticks are my favorite especially during Spring, it just makes my lips stand out no matter what I wear and what time of the day is it! I’m so happy that you get to try this out. I’m sure you look gorgeous with this lippy.

Love “Don’t Blink Pink”, just did a review on it recently as a go-to for spring! It’s my favorite matte, even over the more expensive brands and I find that it’s the best shade for my darker skin tone!

Well, I bought it (after a long search — everyone in my town must read your blog) and it looked TERRIBLE on me. But I’m not upset. It was $1.79 and the drugstore was having a 40% off sale, so it was a very cheap experiment. Things I specifically disliked:the formula and application. My lips looked as if I’d done them with Pepto Bismol. Oh, well. I had to laugh. And then I went running back to my MAC “Girl About Town.”

Karen, this was the best recommendation ever! It’s not easy for women of color to find flattering shades, but this one is on the money, and the price can’t be beat. I bought two additional mega lash lip stains, red my mind & back to the fuschia, and both are EXACT color matches to my favorite NARS lip pencils (dragon girl and Yu respectively). $2.79 vs $25: My choice is easy.

Don’t Blink Pink was too bright so I bought Cherry Picking. Lovely shade and nice consistency. And yes, 40% off.

  18. Karen says:

Ariel – Going to check that out – thx

Sinead – oh crap : ( at least its not much money like we know. I bet they’re other shades that’d work better for you.

JDomination – ok so thx to you I now have to go check out those two lip stains!! #addicting!!

I tried 2 of the lipsticks (Stoplight Red and Wine Room) and the liquid lip color (pocketful of roses) and I absolutely love them! Thanks so much for the recommendation Karen.
