I Had to Ask Nadia

maxi dresses

1 shirt. 1 dress. 1 pair of boots.  This is all kinds of bad ass.
Nadia’s dress is from H&M.  The shirt and boots are vintage/thrifted.  Can’t recall on the sunglasses but knowing Nadia’s unique taste they’re not a designer label.

She hooked up the dress to create shape and detail at the front.  Pinning or tucking is one of the easiest ways to change up a long dress (I still have this thrifted maxi pinned at the front).

Try this style idea if you haven’t already. Her blog is Frou Frou.  Check out her other look in platforms here.

Today’s post is a reminder that style is about having a good eye and nothing else.

    She has a great look!

That said, as a working photographer I have to tell you that I cannot imagine doing my job with my dress dragging in the street. It’s just not practical. People think we have glamourous jobs, but in truth, all of the glamour is in the photo. To get those images, we are running around with pounds of equipment or tethered to a computer somewhere. I always have questions when I see a photographer with one lens, no other gear, and a long dress or high heels. Questions like how is that possible??

When I see Annie Leibovitz running around in a dress like this (and she totally could because she has ten million assistants to do the heavy lifting) I might change my mind.

Absolutely no disrespect to Ms. Sarwar is intended in my comments. But I do think we need to keep it real.

That’s why I posted this image. I literally caught a moment of her turning and walking towards me.

Me too. Tucking or pinning is such a simple idea everyone can do.

Love her look, greatly combined 🙂 Major hair envy too. I think the dress is actually Margiela for H&M.
