Ceiling chandelier the size of a small car greets you in the lobby

Sliders, oysters (and wine) from our dimly lit alcove

I pass this studio on my way home every time I leave Manhattan.

(Films shot here include Sex and The City and The Sopranos)

What I wore

Beaded cardigan: Vintage/Thrift. Leggings: American Apparel. Grey jumper: H&M: Shoes: Balenciaga. Fedora: Trash & Vaudeville. Bag <--- the usual
Last night, the boyfriend and me fancied eating out in the city and with no plans on where, we saw The Plaza hotel as we drove down 5th ave, looked at each other and thought ‘why not?’
We sat in their informal The Oak Room lounge and ate sliders and oysters (he had the latter) while we stared at the ornate ceilings, and life sized black and white photos of stars of music and screen who have stayed at the hotel.
I left the house in American Apparel winter leggings and a vintage cardigan. (It comes with a matching floor sweeping skirt that I’ll post another day).

It’s cool to sort of ‘see’ a lot of you finally!

    Hey gorgeous! I love how you mix casual stuff like oversized cotton tees and vintage gems like that beaded cardigan…I must confess I have stolen that idea from you a few times hahah… Actually you’ve been one of the people who has inspired me to wear what I fancy everyday (which 70% of the time is vintage or thrifted)and I feel really good about it!:D

    Zaire – actually its not suprisingly and thanks on the hat. I’ve always loved brimmed hats.

    Fashion Chalet – def next time.

    Violeta – sometimes. Not that night. My hair was awful!

    SheWearSheShares – its digging plus hit or miss too. Sometimes I leave with nothing. (half of the time actually). Also like anything, some places are better than others.

    I Love Jeneen Nicole – thx but trust me. NOT every time!

    All Women Stalker – thx although the cardi is blue and gold. I suppose it DOES look like black in these shots :-

    For those asking about the camera, the one shown in this post is the new compact camera from Leica. I love it!! (90% of my blog posts are with a Nikon though).

    I really like what you wore. Apart fromt the shoes it looks so comfortable and lovely but a little edgy at the same time. Though lets face it, you gotta have the shoes haha Platform heels are just the cherry on top of a hot outfit cake =) Love reading each and every one of your posts.     I love it!! And I love the red dress you posted like the next day I think. Im seriously going to try to loom for stuff like this! I never find that much cool vintage stuff. Guess I dont have as a great of an eye for it, like youve got! And I also have gone into a hotel on a date and just chilled. Except, we chilled on the roof. And went in because it and I had the same name. :]
