wear it: extreme wide leg trousers

I recently bought extreme wide leg trousers and thought I’d share an idea on one way to wear them.

The blazer adds structure and balances out the trousers (a crop jacket could make the bottom half look heavy if you are pear shaped). The stripe top breaks up all the black and this one doesn’t cling to the body so is more flattering. TIP: Get a size up so it sits a bit lower on the hip (wear it down the road with cut offs, flats and sunglasses).

Add a heeled ankle boot to elongate (Get wedges for comfort). TIP: Flats with wide trousers will make anyone look shorter and wider than they really are). Add a vintage looking satchel with an optional longer strap to wear messenger style or hand held (the older it gets, the better it will look). Found this one on Etsy but check Ebay, flea markets, vintage shops etc. Optional: Add a wide brim hat (to balance the wider lower half). Finish with oversized sunglasses (these are velvet – a unique twist on the norm).

    The suggestion about not wearing a cropped jacket is a good one. I definitely love the way you styled this. I tried on a very similar pair of red Ann D. boots, and I was in love with them. They are extremely comfortable.

    I have a few pairs of wide leg trousers and I relly like them. Up until now I have been wearing them with flats or my biker boots as I didn’t like them with heels but maybe I just need new heels?!
