The Sanderson Hotel

After New York and then London fashion week I decided to extend my stay back home by a week and relax at my friend’s house.  We went out a couple of days ago for afternoon tea at The Sanderson Hotel themed The Madhatter’s Tea Party.

Bottom tier is filled with sandwiches, scones and pies. The middle is cakes, cheesecakes etc.  The top tier has macaroons.  The food was re-filled whenever requested for no charge.

The menu is inside an old book.

Endless re-fills of tea.  Brilliant.

We skipped traditional tea (we drink that daily anyway) and went for these loose teas. I had the apple pie tea.

A venetian mirror lift – really?  As if I’m not obsessed with venetians as it is (I have four).

The napkins are wrapped in riddle inscribed paper. The answer to the question is on the reverse.

You can see where I wrote my alternative answer to the riddle on the right.

I’ve wanted to have a posh tea for over five years. So glad I finally did it with one of my best mates in London.  When the tier plopped down in front of us our mouths fell open.  We sat for two hours drinking tea and working through the platter while catching up on everything.

Went with an old Zara cream dress over a black polo neck and Dr. Martens
