I am here to admit that I have an addiction to Adidas Stan Smiths.
I did not plan for this to happen. I turned my nose up at the shoe that was all of a sudden being worn by models on the top runways of London and Paris; then on literally (it seemed) everyone else. Even “my fashion godmother in my head” Phoebe Philo had a pair she wore with wide wool trousers while strolling through Paris. A sartorial shot of inspiration that I refused to embrace except in the privacy of my Pinterest feed. The trend was growing, and I rebuke anything trendy.
But then last spring I walked into the Adidas Originals store in Soho, trying to be as discreet as possible checking out the Stan Smiths. Was I about to take the plunge into Trendsville? Well let’s just say I walked out with a pair that has the red heel, since everybody and their stylish mother was rocking the green. I hate to say it but they go with every look I concoct. Dresses (check), vintage 501’s (check) pinstripe wide leg pants (check mate!)
One year later I have the greens too.
Don’t judge.

Ah, it happens. I despised Uggs until I got a pair as a gift. They’re clunky and not very versatile fashion-wise, but they’re sooooo friggin warm! Makes the winters more survivable. I am also hopelessly in love with gladiator sandals. I wear them every summer regardless of whether or not they’re “in”.
