Oversized Edit: Big Clothes Energy

Bigger isn’t always better, but in this case it doesn’t apply! Oversized clothing is going to be HUGE this year (pun intended) I’ve written about it in detail in my A/W22 trends article. Take a look if you haven’t already, you don’t want to miss it. Though oversized is trending, it never quite goes out for style. The fact that it’s anticipated for the winter season just means there’s more amazing clothes for me to fill my obsessions with. If you’re also a fan of oversized, or if you’re thinking of trying it out (which you should), keep reading!

Oversized Blazers

Would this really be an article by me without mentioning oversized blazers at least once? As mentioned in my autumn/winter trends article, power suiting is back! The best part is that big blazers with shoulder pads are the easier of blazers to style. You can wear over almost every type of outfit for both warmer weather (by opting for a crop top underneath), and colder seasons (by layering over a chunky knit). In other words, oversized blazers will be your transitional season outfit saviour!

Oversized Knits

Along with blazers, oversized knitwear is also one of fashions current obsessions for the new season! Particularly, I’ve been seeing a lot of varsity and chevron detail v-neck knits – ideal for those who are leaning towards the more preppy style. A style tip if you haven’t tried already is layering sporty knits over a button-up shirt. You can thank me later. Also, who doesn’t love pairing oversized knitwear with knee-high boots – this combination will never stop giving!

Big Bag Energy

You might be surprised, but oversized bags are taking over the A/W runways! In some ways, I feel like I’m having a 2020 flashback when this bag style was also the rage. What’s unique to the 2022 version, is that we’re seeing more shapeless types (this COS quilted bag has been sold out many times) and also leather material. It’s a bag style that is great for everyday wear and doesn’t look ‘boring’.
